According to Telangana authorities on May 24, a heat wave has claimed at least 16 lives in southern India's Telangana state since the onset of summer this year. The deaths were reported across seven administrative districts. The state government announced it will provide 400,000 rupees (approximately 2,800 Chinese yuan) in compensation to the families of the deceased.
