Gate News message, April 20 — Hana Financial Investment, a major South Korean securities firm, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Canton Network, a blockchain infrastructure project operated by Digital Asset Holdings LLC. The agreement aims to explore financial sector collaboration opportunities between the two organizations.
Canton Network is a financial-focused open blockchain that facilitates asset transfers and data exchanges among financial institutions while emphasizing interoperability and privacy protection. The network has attracted participation from major global financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), Euroclear, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX), and HSBC. Through this partnership, Hana Financial Investment will gain access to collaborate with these leading institutions on the same infrastructure.
Yuval Rooz, CEO of Digital Asset, stated that South Korea, with its strong digital innovation ecosystem, is a critical market for Canton Network’s expansion, and described Hana Financial Investment as “a forward-thinking partner to accelerate this transformation.” Jang Byung-ho, CEO of Hana Financial Investment, emphasized that Canton Network represents “next-generation financial infrastructure validated by major global financial institutions” and affirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening connectivity with the global financial ecosystem.

According to The Block, a major exchange rolled out CFTC-regulated crypto spot margin trading for U.S. retail users on Wednesday, allowing users to use crypto assets as collateral to obtain up to 10x leverage without directly selling their assets.
