According to China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson on May 15, China welcomes the recent US-Iran ceasefire and advocates political dialogue as the solution to regional disputes. The Foreign Ministry stated that dialogue should remain open and escalation through military means has no path forward. China calls for maintaining the current de-escalation momentum, pursuing comprehensive and lasting peace in the Middle East, and reopening shipping routes to stabilize global supply chains.
