Brazil's Central Bank Expects GDP Growth to Accelerate in Q1

According to Brazil's central bank officials Picchetti and Aquino, the central bank expects first-quarter GDP growth to accelerate further. Aquino noted that higher-than-historical-average dividend distributions in H2 2025 are linked to market expectations around a potential dividends tax. The central bank plans to raise the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) through a gradual process, the official added.
