According to announcements published on X on Monday, Bitcoin Ordinals browser Ord.io and its associated trading app Zap will shut down on June 1. Creator Leonidas King cited financial constraints as the reason, writing “In the end we ran out of money and don’t see a path forward.” Ord.io, which launched in 2023 as an explorer for Bitcoin inscriptions with community features, later expanded to include tools for rare satoshis and real-time Runes data. King noted the platform had attracted more than 1 million users. Zap, a self-custodial app for buying and trading bitcoin memecoins, will also cease operations. The team advised users to export their private keys to maintain asset access.
