According to an interview report from BAYC Gazette, BAYC member Doodler, about 4.5 years ago, won a 1/100 limited “glass vase” collectible after continuously participating in the mobile game “Monkey Wars: Mutant People” for one week. After the BAYC P2P marketplace officially opened, Doodler immediately listed the item for sale on the platform. According to Gazette’s report, the buyer was an ApeCoin employee, and the deal price was 15,000 APE.

Doodler told BAYC Gazette: “This sale has left me with mixed feelings, because I think it’s one of the best pieces of merchandise produced by BAYC, and I won it through a game, which makes it even more precious. I’ve always hoped BAYC would place more emphasis on merchandise. When I first heard about them, I felt they would be like Supreme—releasing pop-culture brands similar to token-style trends. So when I heard they were going to launch a P2P trading platform, I was really excited.”

User Feedback on the Platform

According to BAYC Gazette’s report, in the interview Doodler evaluated the platform’s initial version features: “The first version of the marketplace platform is really easy to get started with. Of course, there are still things that need improvement, such as batch listing, better categorization, recent sales records, and so on, but for now it’s already good enough.” Doodler also said he has already listed other rare collectibles on the platform, such as a sealed-packaging gold banana bicycle skateboard, and plans to use the APE tokens earned this time to buy Koda.
